The ACU is a multi-circuit single or three-phase power monitor. Use it to monitor bus bars, feeders, switchgear, motors, generators and power distribution panels either as a stand-alone sub-metering system or as part of a larger SCADA system. It's an excellent replacement to transducer-based power metering systems.
Capabilities Its strongest features are its product design & engineering, its technical capabilities and its flexibility.
With upto 30 direct transducerless AC inputs (plus upto 2 DC inputs) in flexible configurations - monitoring any combination of 1, 2, 2.5 & 3 element setups, this product is one of the most capable on the market. Furthermore, the ACU also has support for bi-directional monitoring for co-generation applications and offers +/- 0.5% revenue-grade metering accuracy with an unprecedented 100nS GPS time sychronization.
The ACU is available in 19" rack-mount RTU peripheral packaging or in an industrial enclosure.
Communications The ACU features GE D20 HDLC link, RS-332 AND RS-485, DNP3.0 (serial & ethernet), Ethernet 10/100, Modbus, AND IEC 60870-5-101/104 communications capabilities. The ACU also includes a built-in web server for Internet access.
Setup and data display can be done either locally or remotely. Configuration is done through a PC-based semi-graphical user interface for greater ease of use.
There is also an optional local three channel LED display unit available.
Wire once to the ACU and see the same data at both local control panel displays and the remote control center(s). The P2C™ Dual Core processor architecture makes it all possible.
Applications
- Enhanced functionality compared with traditional, discrete meter installations
- Economical metering for 3-phase feeders, switchgear and power distribution panels
- Bi-directional power metering for co-generation monitoring
- Up to 30 AC inputs per module for convenient monitoring of motor control centers. Daisy chain ACUs for even more circuits.
- Multi-circuit design provides single connection point for easy wiring to field terminations
- Distributed display panels don't need field wiring connected directly to them allowing easier, more flexible placement in control panels / switch boards
- Integrated metering for display panel and SCADA interface so on-site staff and control center see the same data at the same time.
- Integrates easily into existing GE D20, D25 or D400 SCADA systems.
Benefits
- Transducer replacement reduces maintenance and calibration costs
- Remote access via webserver saves operator travel time
- When used with RTUs, concentrates data, thus reducing communication port requirements
- Much lower cost than multiple single meter applications
- Reduced wiring
